Day 5: McLaren Harbour - Komoa Beach

The McLaren Habour tour is one of our most popular and best-known tours. We start with a cruise to the fjords, where local villagers meet us in their outrigger canoes. Then they take us in those canoes to the inner reaches of the fjords where spirits are said to run wild. At the end of the river, the villagers lead us through the rainforest to the sacred site where three villages meet. There, the villagers show us how to make sago, a food staple among the local peoples, as well as teach us about bush medicines, fire making, mat making, and traditional tattooing.

Afterward, the villagers paddle us back down the river to the fjord cruise boat. We return by boat to Komoa Beach, where we have a barbecue prepared by Tufi Resort restaurant staff. On the beach, we can snorkel, swim, or enjoy time with the locals. Finally, we return to Tufi Resort to spend the night.
