3-Day Kokoda Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels Tour

Day 1: Port Moresby - Popondetta

After arriving in Popondetta and checking in to the guesthouse, we visit the Popondetta War Memorial and then journey on to Oro Bay, a US Army staging base for the drive to liberate Buna, Sanananda, and Gona. At Oro Bay, we recieve a welcome from the tribal dancers and spend the day singing, dancing, and feasting with the locals. Finally, we return to Popondetta. 

Day 2: Popondetta - Kokoda - Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels Day

On day 2, we head to Kokoda for a guided tour of the battlesite, the Kokoda War Musuem, and various battle memorials. After the tour, we head to the station to participate in Kokoda's celebration of Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels Day. The Fuzzy Wuzzy were local Papuan carriers whose efforts were crucial to the Australian and Allied victories in the Kokoda and Papuan campaigns. In the evening, we return to Popondetta.

Day 3: Popondetta - Port Moresby

After breakfast, we fly from Girua Airport in Popondetta back to Port Moresby. After checking in to the hotel, we visit the Bomana War Cemetery, the burial site of over 3000 serviceman, mostly Australians, killed in the Kokoda and Papuan campaigns. Finally, we return to the hotel for the night before flying out of Papua New Guinea the next day.
